Torgler_Jolene1.jpg - Jolene Torgler The first quilt was made with "older" stash fabrics which I collected from people throughout our city, who no longer sew, and they wanted to recycle various fabrics. I washed and ironed all the fabrics before using. The batting is also recycled... from a twin sized mattress cover that I cut up. When I finished the quilt, it went to a local hospital for a young dialysis patient. The second quilt was also made out of recycled fabrics from various "older fabric" that I washed, ironed, and cut up to make into a "kitty pattern" for my elderly mother-in-law, who can no longer sew, and lives by herself with her cat.
