Savitskij_Karen1.JPG - Karen Savitskij My husband just switched jobs and was going to throw out several cotton, no-iron, beautiful work shirts because they had the old company's logo. Instead, I cut the shirts apart at the seams, including the sleeves, and found that with just the right positioning I could get a pair of shorts with pockets from Butterick pattern 3475 out of each shirt with a few scraps leftover. I adjusted the waist to fit and added 1/8" top stitching at the top to help keep the elastic from turning in the wash. (we even cut the buttons off and used those for preschool sorting games)
