Quigley_Janice.jpg - Janice Quigley I was given some vintage lace doilies and wanted to have a way to display them. The pattern called "Saucy Senorita" by Jane Tenorio-Coscarelli fit the bill. The original quilted wall hanging has 4 "saucy ladies". I elected to make only one and used the doily instead of a handkerchief for the skirt. It worked just as well. There were other improvisations, like coloring her hair, shoes and fan with a combination of crayons and fabric inks, free motion stitching around the figure and decorative stitching around the sashing. It turned out to be a unique way to display an heirloom.
