| 198 | Susie Monday Stories on My Shoulders -I'm a textile artist who makes one-of-a-kind altered jean jackets and vest from recyled thrift store finds. The jackets and vests tell personal and cultural stories, inspired the the Texas Borderlands and it's rich mix of languages, natural beauty and icons and images. Using found fabrics and fabrics that I dye and print myself, I fuse my "stories" onto the yoke, back and front panels of the jackets with a fusible web, then free motion quilt and embellish by hand with embroidery, buttons and more. |
