| 197 | Pam Misheski This purse was constructed from recycled 100 %wool from thrift store clothing. The garments were washed several times and cut apart. The fabric was then used to make 18” X 22” sections. Originally the sections were to be used to construct a quilt but some of them were not to my satisfaction. To utilize the not so perfect pieces, I constructed purses from them. The pieces of wool were butted on to pieces of iron on stabilizer and then an appliqué stitch was used to join the pieces together. This kept the bulk down on the seams. Heavy interfacing added the necessary stiffness and a fancy fabric was used for the lining. The handles were also recycled from thrift store purses. |
