McCartney_Lorraine1.jpg - Lorraine McCartney The straight version of Dos de Tejas Artistry Vest was modified and cut into 8 sections for modular assembly. All 8 sections are fully lined, using fabric from a beaded turquoise/purple print blouse and a dark turquoise poly crepe skirt.. The four exterior side sections are made from a poly shantung skirt. The 2 center front and 2 center back sections are a fabric collage. Crosswise purple threads were pulled from the shantung fabric and randomly placed on the fabric collage before being channel stitched with turquoise rayon thread. All pieces were channel stitched to a 17-year-old flannel nightgown - using tissue wrapping paper as a stabilizer - before being lined.
