The outside of the backpack was constructed by cutting and sewing many strips of ties together to create the front, back, and sides. The ties were additionally used to create a binding around the opening flap and the button loop closure as design details. The bottom, closing flap, and straps of the backpack were all made out of denim jeans. For more functionality and convenience, I created two large pockets on the front using the denim jeans and a patchwork design made from the silk ties..
