Hansen_Ida1.JPG - Ida Hansen My charity quilts use left over, cast away, and a few new fabrics. This green quilt used the fabrics shown in the first photo. I used garage sale fabrics given to me by a friend - the green flowered was a half-made long pant, the solid green was a remnant after cutting out a pattern, and the green stripe was half a sheet (the top hem is shown in the photo). The white sheets at the top of the photo, from an up-scale hotel, were on the way to the land fill - again, ransomed by a friend that works at the hotel. Since white isn't very practical for utility quilts, I dyed it and used it as the backing, photo 2, upper right. Almost no scraps of any fabric were left!
