Foskett_Genevieve1.JPG - Genevieve Foskett This reusable cloth shopping bag is made from a second-hand Hawaiian shirt. It's made in the same general size and shape as a plastic shopping bag, so it will hold quite a bit. The button placket is sewn together along each side for sturdiness. There's already a pocket in the shirt, and I make sure to incorporate that into the bag for keys, cell phone, whatever. Some of my bags are made from leftovers from quilting or sewing projects, and some are from drapes, bed linens, or clothing I purchase from thrift stores. I often look at a second-hand dress and, instead of trying it on, I’ll start calculating how many bags I can get out of it.
