Dipaola_Marisa1.JPG - Marisa Dipaola The Smurfhouse" & Smurfette costume sewn entirely from found materials. The cap from two old beach umbrellas, old crinoline, & old broken tent poles. The stem from my uncle's old living room draperies. The floor from old corduroys and clothing & some fabric scraps I've gathered over the years. The door & windows & cushions from old upholstery. The toadstools are carved from a found poplar log. Smurfette's apron & shoes are sewn from an old chenille bedspread, her legs from an old shrunken sweater, & her dress resewn from an old sundress. Overall dimensions: 9 feet tall x 8 feet diameter
