2009 National Sewing Month Contest Submissions

A local thrift store in Georgia was the source for the pink prom dress, a blue evening skirt and Easter type hats. My friend Roseanne Miracle washed both garments in the washing machine with no ill effects. I bought flower girl hoop skirts from Ebay. The blue skirt did not have to be altered. We pulled up lengths and secured with 6 handmade ribbon roses. The same roses were added to the hat along with ribbon ties. The pink prom dress bodice was cut off leaving the pink satin sash, which we turned in half and hand stitched to the skirt. Pink ribbon roses were added to the hat along with ribbon ties.
