Barnes_Karen2.JPG - Karen Barnes Our neighborhood sewing group, 'Sew It's Saturday', associated with the Corpus Christi,TX ASG chapter, September meeting was a "Second Hand Rose Challenge" in celebration of National Sewing Month. This ladies skirt was previously a men's plaid shirt purchased at a garage sale for fifty cents. The Shirt sleeves, collar and yoke were removed. Both sleeves were remade into inset seam pockets. The back yoke was fashioned into a wasteband and finally the shirt tails were cut off and the skirt was hemmed.
